Getting to Crocus Expo: A Complete Visitor’s Guide

Crocus Expo
Crocus Expo

Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre is one of the largest and most modern exhibition venues in Russia, hosting over 350 events annually with more than 10 million visitors. Located on the outskirts of Moscow, this sprawling complex welcomes exhibitors and attendees from around the world. Whether you’re coming for a major trade fair or a specialized exhibition, this guide will help you navigate your way to Crocus Expo with ease.

Location and Address

Crocus Expo is situated in Krasnogorsk, a city in the Moscow region, just outside the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). The official address is:

Mezhdunarodnaya Street, 16, 18, 20, Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, Russia

The complex is part of the larger Crocus City development, which includes shopping malls, a concert hall, hotels, and entertainment facilities.

Getting There by Metro

The metro is by far the most convenient way to reach Crocus Expo, especially during peak hours when traffic around the venue can be heavy. The station is directly connected to the exhibition pavilions via covered walkways, allowing visitors to reach the venue without stepping outside.

Station: Myakinino (Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line — the dark blue line)

From central Moscow, take the metro toward Myakinino. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes from the city center. When boarding, ride in the first car from the center and exit to the Crocus Expo IEC. The station has step-free access and connects directly to all three exhibition pavilions.

During large-scale events with high attendance, organizers recommend using the metro as the preferred mode of transportation to avoid parking challenges.

Getting There by Car

For those driving to Crocus Expo, the venue is accessible from the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) at the 66-kilometer mark.

From the outer side of MKAD (traveling outward from Moscow): Exit to the Crocus City territory after Volokolamskoye Highway, following signs for “Crocus City”.

From the inner side of MKAD: Exit under the bridge before Volokolamskoye Highway, again following signs for “Crocus City”.

Parking Information

Crocus Expo offers substantial parking facilities. There are over 35,000 free parking spaces on the territory, including spots for people with disabilities and bicycle parking. Pavilion 3 also offers an additional 6,000 parking spaces.

Important note: During major exhibitions, parking can fill up quickly. Organizers often recommend using the metro or park-and-ride facilities during large-scale events. Additional paid and free parking is available within the Crocus City territory, including at the VEGAS shopping mall and Crocus City Mall. Park-and-ride facilities are located near Strogino and Volokolamskaya metro stations.

Getting There from Airports

For international visitors arriving by air, several options are available:

Aeroexpress trains connect Moscow’s major airports to the city center. From there, transfer to the metro and head to Myakinino station. Taxis and ride-hailing services are also widely available and can take you directly to Crocus Expo.

Navigating the Venue

Crocus Expo consists of three main pavilions (Pavilions 1, 2, and 3) with 19 exhibition halls and 49 conference halls. The total complex area exceeds 1,000,000 square meters.

One of the venue’s standout features is its covered, heated walkways with moving walkways that connect all pavilions to each other and to the metro station, shopping centers, and hotel. This allows visitors to move comfortably throughout the Crocus City complex without going outside — a particularly welcome feature during Moscow’s cold winters.

Multimedia terminals at the entrance to each exhibition hall help visitors navigate the sprawling complex.

Amenities at Crocus Expo

The venue offers a wide range of amenities for visitors:

Dining: A food court inside Crocus Expo serves visitors throughout the day. Additionally, the VEGAS shopping mall — just a 3-minute walk via covered passage from Pavilion 1 — offers dozens of cafés, restaurants, food courts, and coffee shops.

Other facilities: The complex includes bank branches, service centers, a taxi ordering point, cloakrooms, a customs station, and lifting services.

Accommodation

For those traveling from afar, there are over 20 hotels located near Crocus Expo. The closest option is the Aquarium Hotel, located inside Pavilion 3 itself. For booking assistance, the official tour operator Demlink Travel can help arrange hotel accommodations and even provide visa support for international visitors.

Visa Information

All foreign citizens (with the exception of citizens of some former USSR republics) require a visa to enter the Russian Federation. Exhibition organizers typically recommend contacting their official tour operator for visa support letters and processing assistance. Visa processing takes time, so plan well in advance of your trip.

Practical Tips for Visitors

  1. Check your pavilion and hall number before arriving — with 19 halls across three pavilions, knowing your exact destination will save time.
  2. Register online in advance — most exhibitions offer free admission with prior online registration.
  3. Use the metro during peak events — when major exhibitions are running simultaneously, parking becomes limited.
  4. Bring comfortable shoes — the complex is enormous, and you’ll likely do plenty of walking.
  5. Note the opening hours — most exhibitions run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with final days often closing earlier at 4:00 PM.
  6. Children under 16 are not permitted at some professional exhibitions — check specific event policies before bringing young children.
  7. Download translation apps — while multilingual signage is available, having a translation app can be helpful for navigating menus and signs.

With its excellent metro connection, substantial parking facilities, and visitor-friendly amenities, Crocus Expo is designed to accommodate large numbers of visitors efficiently. Whether you’re attending a major international trade fair or a specialized industry exhibition, planning your arrival in advance will ensure a smooth and productive visit.
